Villa Vivare is located in Jaibalito, a small town on the north shore of the amazing Lake Atitlan, just a few steps from shore where the public boats arrive. There are no roads leading in or out of Jaibalito. The only access is from the lake.

The house has two stories with three upstairs bedrooms. Each floor has a large, beautifully appointed bathroom. All rooms are set up with a combination of handmade local furniture and colorful decorative touches and linens. The master bedroom (MBR) has a king size bed , ample storage space and a private balcony. The new bedroom (NBR) offers views of the mountains and is furnished with a sleeper sofa and a queen size bed. The third bedroom is smaller and has two single beds (SBR). There is an indoor and outdoor kitchen, well equipped with either grill or oven, as well as a cooktop and fridge. The downstairs living room converts into a fourth bedroom. Most of the living area is outside, with balconies and patios, where you can enjoy the view of the lake. There is lots of space to relax and enjoy your time at the lake.

As soon as the renovation is completed, we will rent rooms in the house or the whole house on a weekly or monthly basis. A deposit is required to secure reservations. Final payment can be arranged ahead of time, or can be taken care of locally. Someone will meet you to show you around and will be available to answer your questions. * Feel free to email us for rental conditions, availability and rates.

Walk into town for simple groceries or a drink. There are several wonderful hiking trails leading into the hills behind Jaibalito with majestic views of the lake and volcanoes. There are a few hotels in walking distance that offer relaxing al fresco dining.

Catch a 'lancha' (public boat) to explore the lake and surrounding villages. Check out the Mayan markets with wonderful textiles and crafts. The lake area offers many activities such as: Kayaking, Diving, Spanish Language Schools, local Art Galleries, Horseback Riding, Meditation, Massage, and Yoga classes.

There is also a large offering of guided tours in the area, such as visiting the volcanoes or coffee plantations. There are private boat tours of the lake, as well as trips to places like Chichicastenango, Huehuetenango and Antigua.
